Vegan protein review

rbsh

To find the perfect vegan protein – this is the never ending ques. Read: I wasn’t able to find it yet, nor anybody else I know.

I always get great suggestion so the next time I invest in that to see if it’s really good but no. I tried quite a few already so I thought I write a mini series about them.
I’d love to clarify that I believe if someone has a nice and varied diet than there’s no need for extra protein but if one goes to the gym frequently or plays sports regulary maybe they should consider to have an extra boost. Since I’ve tried the post workout protein shakes I always feel like I need it every time I work out. Sometimes I just mix it in my cereals if I feel exhausted.

Why use vegan protein? Well, it’s easier to produce, so it’s minimally processed. It’s easier to digest, than animal proteins, not to mention that they support muscle building and regeneration the same way. 🙂

I tried 6 different kind of protein so far, I’d like to introduce you AbsoRice, ScitecNutrition and RawFusion in the first post. This is only my personal opinion, so don’t take it for granted.

AbsoRice

Maybe this is the winner, but I’m not sure yet. It doesn’t taste like white chocolate or caramel, still it’s quite delicious and the texture is nice, too. It makes a smooth, creamy blend even with water only. This shakes are pretty filling, sometimes I have them instead of dinner. Usually I drink it after running.

ScitecNutrition

Very fine-grained,when I opened the package the dust was flying everywhere. 🙂

Not too sweet but doesn’t really taste like chocolate. It blends pretty well and I didn’t feel any after-taste (despite what I read on the internet). As for the taste it’s not my favorite but it’s still one of the best proteins I bought. I enjoy it after gym or training, it boosts my energy and I felt less tired after having it. When I’m craving sweets I just make a smoothie with and extra spoon of Dutch cocoa (without sugar).

RawFusion

Very lumpy texture, hard to blend and it even smelled weird. It reminded me of chalk dust from elementary school. The taste is horrible, it has nothing to do with vanilla and I felt like I had sand in my smoothie. I was told I can even use it the dough of cookies but it ruined them, made them taste like sand and it had a bad after taste. It take almost 6 months for me and my boyfriend to finish it. :'( Not only did I suffer when I had to drink it but I didn’t even felt any difference from using it.
