Usually I start my day with hydrating my body: first with Kangen water, then I have my morning digestion juice (Kangen water, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, ginger and a little honey or some syrup I have at home – blackberry is amazing with this!) and as the weather gets colder, I changed my morning hot cocoa to a herbal tea. What kind of tea I drink changes daily, my cabinet is full! This herbal detox tea I’m going to share with you is both effective and delicious, which is a huge plus as I find most of the store bought teas unpleasing. Don’t they taste like grass?
First of all, I soak the lemons in pH11 water from my Kangen machine for 15 minutes to remove pesticides. I use Kangen water for my tea as well.
If you’d like to learn more about Kangen water check this two posts below:
What you’ll need:
- 2 lemons (organic if possible)
- 1 tbs dried parsley
- 1 tbs dried peppermint (I couldn’t get it at the stores so I just used my Ikea peppermint tea mix)
- thumb sizes piece of ginger
- steaming hot water (I used Kangen water)
- honey
Set your water to heat up in a kettle.
Slice your lemons thinly and line them on the bottom of your tea pot. Lemons help to detox the liver, and lemon in hot water especially flushes toxins from your system.
Best is to use organic lemons, or if you can’t get them, make sure you clean them off of every chemical, as the point of this tea is to detox the boy, no point to add more toxins.
Combine mint (a great to sooth the stomach), parsley (for detoxing your kidneys and bladder), and ginger (anti-bacterial, stomach soother, great for drawing out toxins from the digestive tract) in either a tea ball or stainless steel strainer and place in teapot.
Pour hot water over the herbal mixture and let the hot water steep for 8-10 minutes.
If you would like a touch of sweetness to your tea, add honey (antibacterial and immune boosting sweetener).
