This delicious, foraged nettle cinnamon latte is my latest favorite drink before bed, especially when I feel like cozying up and creating some hygge atmosphere with a book and some scented candles beside my bed.

Nettle has become my favorite natural ingredient in my wild kitchen since I started my foraging journey in Scotland few years ago, especially because it is easily accessible on the road. If you have nettle in your garden don’t discard it as a weed because it can be used in many different ways. Nettle is high in iron, and is known to reduce hay fever and lower blood pressure.

What you'll need:

  • 1 cup barista style cashew milk
  • 1 tbsp dried nettle leaves
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 tsp maple/agave/rice syrup

How to:

  1. Add nettles to the cashew milk in a small saucepan or pot and bring it to a boil. Remove from the stove and cover with a lid. Allow to steep for 30 minutes.

    2. Strain through a fine mesh strainer and then reheat on the stove on low, adding in the cinnamon and sweetener of your choice.

    3. Stir until dissolved and pour into your favorite mug.

    4. Garnish with a violet or pansy.
